T I R E D
training today turned out to be trials for selection & stressed me out so bloody much! but all hail good news in the end so :D fingers crossed (very tightly) to reap better results this year YES! we are all diamonds in the rough we can also become glittering diamonds and shine and shine and shine and shine till we blind you with our too-bright sparkle :D
school promises plenty of tests in the upcoming weeks, and i jotted down 'tropical econs test' scheduled for next friday in my planner this morning. eva was flipping through the planner and proceeded to draw a coconut tree beneath my note. turns out i was stupid enough to think it was a tropical test instead of a topical one -.-, and she thought i wrote it purposely to poke fun. Ha ha ha i am rather silly no?
i seldom have sudden revelations like these but it came to me that i am actually very content with my life now. A little tiring, a little busy, but otherwise punctuated with wonderful friends and happy events. This is ought to be how i feel all the time, and may this felicity extend to you too (if you aren't already experiencing it).
All for a small fee of $5! (just kidding :D)
Excuse me for this

if others are beyond caring, then it does not reason to hold on. it does not reason to keep trying, keep trying.

My brother and I had one hell of a time trying to teach my parents how to play bridge after playing big2 & nami 10000x. It's very funny to see them struggling to understand the bidding part and we had to translate all the lingo to chinese and we've taught them everything except the no trump bid (which i have no idea how to translate!)
my lack of relatives has resulted in a ginormous amount of time freed up for gambling. At the end of the day i lost 3 bucks after winning and losing and losing it back and then winning it back and finally.. losing. *heaves colossal sigh*
o-kay i shall switch on my complusive obsessive gambler mode on tomm & trash everyone!
moo-uahaha!

I was sitting in the canteen this afternoon waiting out for training & chatting with wanting & adie, and asked them to help me think of english names. After a million suggestions wan ting triumphantly came up with willy, because then i would be
Willy Won(g)ka
thanks wan ting i love you you're my best friend you always give me the best suggestions!
first training at SSC went pretty smoothly, was in good spirits although my game wasn't the least bit satisfactory. Juniors seem pretty nice & all, I was talking to the girls when one of them said "You're BiQi right" and told me she remembered me as the station-master-at-ECP-who-said-nobody-is-allowed-to-put-paper-balls-in-their-nehneh. Ha ha man should I be flattered (?)
A'Div dates are out! Really hope we can step up trainings b/c once per week training is really meagre, and this is the last year we're gonna be able to participate in A'Div & it's the last thing we can take part in CCA-wise before we step down for As.
A'Div FTW!

Homework is gonna take it's toll.. But we're all gonna hang in there. STARTING NOW! :D
I will be there at the end of the day.

Dreary school has started and gilbert lim took it upon himself to remind us that there's only 287 days to the big A's. What the hell.
Shermaine has the most retarded toy parrot in the world! But it's damn funny we keep making it parrot us and it has this device to record what we say but when they play it again the pitch is changed to a shriller and higher one so it sounds like crap. Took videos but i think blogger refuses to let me upload videos so I will not bother. Her parrot also dances to our orientation mass dance. -.-
Ta!

I slept for 8 hours :D
Was pretty damn shagged from last night's fright night. It was wildly unsuccessful (the lights were on?!) The stations weren't scary and those who were supposed to scare just looked like.. (sorry thaddeus hahahahaha) The OCs were really pretty bad at planning. Even if they had put in a lot of effort, which was obvious, one small slip up with the lights and their entire mega event went kaput. Aw.
Kept feeling like dozing off halfway through the night! It was a damn long day considering I spent 10 hours at ECP with the sun beating down relentlessly. My sunburn was so bad! Setting up our station game was took pretty long already and when the first few OGs came it was all pretty bad because the game wasn't well planned. Again, because the OC didn't recee the game first. ): how could they not do that?! but after we discussed with jedaiyah & tianhui and made modifications the afternoon sessions went quite smoothly. :D
I owe success so much to the rest of my team 'cause i think i keep shouting at them with my loudhailer hahaha i keep asking them to do this and that b/c i was so busy. But there was this session where i allocated my own OG and 2 of Drakon's OG together -.- so kirin got trashed in that game ): At the end of all the games i was on the verge of losing my voice because i just kept talking and talking, briefing and getting the game going. It was tough cause the sun was damn merciless it was so fucking hot and all of us were v dehydrated but i'm glad the feedback was positive. :DD jedaiyah said my station was the best out of all 3. Hurrah! Makes all the effort worthwhile.
At the end of the day I collated results and kirin won 6 out of 16 games, which was pretty good! GO ORYXXXXXXX
it may (not) mean something
Photos!
To complement the change of our house name, wanting got herself a kirin bottle! Ng boon kian can go to hell for changing our name, because i have this premonition the change of naem is gonna mark our downfall.

Drafted 11th January
I think we were a bit starstruck and we kept giving stuff to her to autograph. Ryan and ZhenYu actually asked her to autograph their phones -.- kow got his on his ball(!), bowling shoes and wallet! and i got mine on my slipper :D quite retarded actually 'cause it comes off quite easily. I wanted her to do it on my ball polisher actually but she couldn't cause it was very hard to sign. LOL.
Most of our lunch was spent introducing her to the other bowlers and laughing about wanye. Then we started passing around a bigass photo of her and it was quite gross hahaha luckily i'm not the sort to lose their appetite.

edited! (like, 40 minutes later :D)

Squad chalet was a catalyst to worsen my already bad sorethroat + cough + fever. Apparently my immune system is proving to be pretty dysfunctional lately. Sir Junyang actually came to pay us a visit with dinner and a trip into our chalet room (!) where we decided to "stand by chalet". He told us to stop it, but it was a good laugh (esp after the awkward dinner LOL)Next chalet Shunjie and I will PK to see who has more invincible toes. Which i am confident of winning, definitely. Hurrah. (PS. I do not owe you ten bucks you ass)
Dropped by at class chalet earlier in the afternoon to hear their stories about their drunken stupor last night (boy am i glad i was not there) & their plans for pillow fight later on tonight. Melissa promptly demonstrated what was the exact best way to kill people with a pillow and declared it the ultimate move (while we were at the BBQ pits surrounded by people). Scary.Back to school soon, how depressing. And to know our new classroom chairs looks like this?
Even more depressing. Are we actually in kindergarten or what?!
Don't be silly,

If this isn't love
Thursday, January 01, 2009
Received an email from Sir Junyang! It's such a pleasant surprise to hear from him. If you judge solely from his looks you'd never guess he has the capacity to love our squad so much and actually do little acts like sending emails to us every now and then. He's fierce, commanding, and scares the hell out of people but a select bunch of people (and that's lucky us) gets to know his more loving side and it's actually very heartwarming!
I still remember during our POP he was called onstage as our OIC to do the usual say a few words. He was so shy he was at a loss for words and kept throwing the emcees ludicrous looks. Still when the crowd cleared and it was only between us and him, the words flowed so much more fluently, and this really made me understood that his love for us was really such a private affair to him.
Another time when we were ICs of grace's batch's POP, we were so hungry at the end of the night because we didn't eat much during dinnertime 'cause we had too much to prepare we couldn't afford spending time on food. We were all slumped on the table, really wanting to sleep but also craving for food. Our valuables were all locked up so we had so money and we even contemplated eating the leftovers from the buffet dinner, but then our hero came :D and told us NO! cannot eat the food cause it might have turned bad and actually gave us money so we could get food from the vending machine.
There's also this once during secondary 2 we had a changing parade at the sec 1 study area in the tanjong rhu campus. We were all breathless, tired, our arms aching from changing too fast, our minds dreading the next time he would shout GO CHANGE! 4 MINS! He was standing atop one of those wooden tables, shouting so loudly i meekly wondered why he head hasn't blown off.. students were walking by, pointing and laughing. But it was also this training that made us since then able to change in record time, which is no mean feat i tell you with all our uniform accessories.
And i know what others thought of us. They wondered why we would willingly stand under the sweltering sun, doing footdrill (or to others, leg lifts?!) for hours, why we would willingly don shirts tucked in all the way, socks that were so high with our fringes pinned back and hair pulled back into a tight bun.
If we had anything to prove, it was only with our bond. Which is why I (and i believe the rest of us) would always feel this fierce rush of pride when people comment on how strongly bonded we are. We have seriously seen the ugliest of each other, with sweat drenching our faces and exhaustion obvious in our every movement.
I have sidetracked a little.. Coming back.
We could have never gotten this far without him. His words always has so much truth in it, and he was always so sure. So sure of our capability, and never failing to remind us to believe in ourselves, even when other seniors were disappointed in us.
A small excerpt from his email:
I always remember Sheryl saying to me that,"Boss, you're right, they don't do things for the sake of doing it. They're really doing it because they mean it." How true it is, only you will know, but I know I agree with her.
For all your faith, all your love, all your support, thank you.
Others may not understand, but
We'd know.
