CNY is over and for the most part of it, I felt like I was taking a really good break from school to go places like Sentosa, RWS, GBTB and MBS with my cuzzies. I've gotten more impressed with security on the mbs skypark, which Gia and I always spoke about because of how easy it was to beat the system. Anyway, weather over the few days wasn't the most beautiful or forgiving; it drizzled/rained perpetually and even armed with umbrellas it wasn't much help. The stuff I enjoyed the most? Shopping, duh. We spent a good amount of time in Bugis, Orchard and FEP. And I spent with oblivion, which I now few kinda guilty for.

I've been getting into lip products lately, possibly another stage in my weird bouts of makeup obsession. I'm quite fussy about the textures and formulas because I hate traditional lippies, they are way too shimmery and its always so difficult to find a nice, flattering shade! Semi mattes and mattes work for me best, but tends to be equally drying. A good alternative, I found, are lip stains. I like how I can choose to wear them glossier like a lippie, or take them off after leaving it on a few minutes and be left with a nice pigmented stain (I hate stuff on my lips because I always unconsciously lick them). So my current favs are Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stain and Loreal's Shine Caress!

I have to say... I love this product of Revlon's! The crayon stick, twist up.. everything works for me. I do wish sg brought this in in the entire range instead of just six colours. I currently own Adore, which is the deep red cause I was looking for a red lippie, but I'm getting Lovesick next (the fuschia), it is so so pretty (esp on Emma Stone!) The texture is smooth, the formula is non drying and the most amazing part is... the stain stays for hours even after I eat meals. It's quite possibly the longest lasting stain I've ever tried. I like how low maintenance it is cause there's no need to touch up at all. The only thing that annoys me a little is the minty taste of it but it is afterall sposed to be a balm and the taste is not overpowering, so its still acceptable.

Next the loreal's.. can I first just say... I LOVE THE PACKAGING?!?! Loreal has outdone themselves!! The bullet looks very YSL-esque, which is apt because these lippies are supposed to be a dupe of YSL's glossy stains. I love the gold bits, and how the color of the lippies peek out subtly from the transparent window. Lovely. Lovely. The doe foot applicator also gets plus points, and everything feels so luxe, which is rare for a drugstore product.

I couldn't help but get four colours. I know.... but they are just so pretty?? I especially love the deep pink, its amazinggg. Similar to revlon's, the formula is very moisturizing (30% water 60% oil), and has a interesting jelly like texture when applied to the lips. It does pale in comparison in terms of staying power, most of it rubbed off over a meal and has to be reapplied. The sheerer shades also don't work for my annoyingly pigmented lips (mostly recognized as a good thing but I hate how it messes up the colours of sheer lippies) but otherwise I am also sold. Mostly on the packaging. But still, xxx!

I love how blogging about these things are so therapeutic. Now I need to refocus and move my lazy ass on my schoolwork!

My shopping habits have got quite uncontrollable lately. In nov/dec I was super broke so come jan where I became a little richer, EVERYTHING on the racks caught my eye. It was insane. I was even persuaded into getting a three figure dress in fifteen minutes - the amount is frankly quite obscene my by standards although it still is a gorgeous dress. It's not pictured in this rack b/c I sent it to the seamstress to shorten  the straps, I just got it back today and its a much better fit now ^^ But surely you can see my obsession with lace - am I overdoing it? Hahaha

CNY is finally coming! This yr we're spending it in sg so it wldn't be as exciting/busy when we go back to msia but I'm definitely happy about the long break we have yay!

Had lunch with museum folks today! Always a happy occasion. Halfway through lunch, amanda took out her lunchbox in which she packed some homemade cny goodies she made herself. Man her cornflake cookies tasted SO GOODDD. Suddenly shirleen asked me eh bbq isn't amanda's tupperware pretty? Sue was holding on to it in her hands so I stared at it, but it looks so normal! Then the whole table kept silent and started shooting me these meaningful looks. I was like, is there smthg I'm missing?? I looked again, carefully this time, and omfgomfgomfg I SAW A DIAMOND RING ON HER FINGER!! Her fiance Kelvin is also a colleague in the museum, so mad happy for her! Thereafter she shared her proposal story and even told us how our bosses proposed to their wives in the past hahaha.

Here's the lady with the ring! She's glowing leh. Next time I must glow like that toooooooooo

Didn't have a lot of time today to visit everyone, the bulk of time I spent in ross, minn and seb's offices and the triangle room (named so because the larger office where most of us are is triangle shaped: odd but cute!) to catch up with them. For me there's something very therapeutic about visiting and catching up with everyone, I always feel so happy and good after I meet all of them. I even convinced Minn to torrent Wreck it Ralph HAHAHA no easy feat trust me.

Jon the bully. He brought me to VM's office and when everyone in the office started pouncing on me I was like omg I need to get out of here and him being him he locked the door and stood in front of it, arms akimbo. LOL bitch. Comms and the museum both have new interns, seeing them there is weird in a way; like they're your replacements.

With shirleen! This lady today smokey eye so pretty!

And here's amanda sketching the new events manager Javier because we were telling Nigel and Javier (both new) about how dismal her artistic skills were. Hahaha I have no idea why Javier looks so happy here. I sld have taken a photo of the end result! It was not bad actually sans the mouth - because he was smiling she drew the teeth individually ok omg it was hilarious. Man I missed the days we had drawing competitions in the office! I miss everything about working there actually :(

Smone got a bottle of red wine as part of a hamper and on a whim sue and julia made sangria! It was quite tasteless la couldn't really taste the fruits BUT the ice diluted the alcohol and made it taste much smoother.

That's it for now! 5am and I have to wake up three hours later for a meeting :( But the rest of the day I'm looking fwd to! Happy weekends everyone xx
