Hello stranger
Wednesday, August 26, 2009

I haven't blogged properly in so long - most of it are snippets of thoughts that I care enough to write down. Others, they just take temporary residence in my head and then disappear before I know it.

A lot has happened, and I keep telling myself, must blog about this, must blog about that. But my brain has decided to keep space for hypo testing and correlation instead so I sadly forgot about all of that.

First thing was the SPLAT! musical that finally ended on 15th.. On hindsight I think the planning process was much more tedious as compared to the actual day itself. I mean, it could be a cause and effect thing - we planned well so it went well - but I think more of it was because on the 15th things happened so fast, back to back that I didn't feel as if we actually planned the event itself.

Barring one hiccup about the loss of artworks, the night was a really successful one. Couldn't have asked for better myself.

End of the day mass group photo:

Time please stop now

Late night studying, happy hours in cafes.. I hate it and love it. The fight for our futures seem juvenile, useless and blind, but we can't ignore the words that we all know : our future is in our hands.

Maybe one day we'd find out we're all part of a freak experiment.

Ok but till then.. Hello correlation.
And then again

Nope I haven't died (?)

In fact I reckon I will be much happier tomm when the whole musical ends and I can finally.. stop thinking about SPLAT all the time. stop worrying about how the hell we are going to get everything done and why the fuck people can be so irresponsible.

That day in Lit Ms Ng was saying something about the eclipse in Othello and I was writing on my book "Significance of eclipse -" and then I continued to write "getting from yiu tak". I was texting him under my table yes but point is you see what all this planning is doing to my brain? ):

The amount of emails and correspondence I've got in my inbox that are regarding this musical (planning has only been going on for 4 months?) amounts up to 5 pages, which is equivalent to the number of emails I got from my 4 years of st john life. Pretty scary now that I think about it..

Fervently praying that everything will go well tommorrow. Though I kind of hope Dominic will somehow trip over the stairs, most of all I just want everything to work out the way we want it to.

Luck!

These times I need the right words but they all fail me.

School and nights have been flashing past without so much as a blink. Difficult to keep up with everything. Thought it was going to be a mini break since volunteer training was over w/o much difficulty, but now there's so much to discuss its a little overwhelming. I keep forgetting to call IKEA and I keep forgetting to be on task.

Sometimes I want to scream at my team, scream at dominic. But I don't know.. does it help? Dominic keeps telling me things like "How will you take these sudden turn of events" and my mind goes blank although I'm hell indignant. I take changes with however much grace I can afford. And I adapt. Its just that sometimes he don't see.

Finally half understand the feeling of trying to lead a team as a friend and as a leader. In the past it was all very clear in SJ cause we draw clear senior junior lines to facilitate trainings but now we start off as friends. IDK, but I've learnt.

I think there's more on my shoulders than what I'm feeling now. Same fr the rest of our team. We're all tired, and perhaps deep down we just hope 16th Aug will come sooner.

Or would you find some lame excuse
and never be true
