A short one taken from an email sent to our professor:

I am what other people might call a grounded dreamer. The oxymoron is puzzling but I'd like to think that a person can be wildly, hopelessly imaginative, yet at the same time equally logical. I sometimes harbor big dreams that, in comparison to my skills and abilities, seem extremely disproportionate. Other times, I shock myself with how pragmatic I am - healthy, but only in appropriate doses. I take the same view in my life and my friends. The episodes in my life haven't always been lovely. Some are downright ugly; moments I cringe upon every time the memory comes to mind, but I look carefully and find beauty through the difficulty. Lessons learnt that slowly and surely made me a better person, friends that have stepped up to shelter me from the rain. Realism and romanticism are difficult to balance but I always mix a bit of one with the other, so that I never swing too dangerously close to either one of the extremes.
As a person, I am independent and free-spirited. I'm also a walking dichotomy. I enjoy playing the hero, other times the villain. I think it is a beautiful thing - to be so conflicted within yourself, and yet able to reconcile the differences and know who you truly are, and what you believe in.I don't think I've wrote my best, but I am really too exhausted to think of more.
Ombré

Reports and midterms have kept me absolutely pressed for time. Work is a devil.. So much to do, so little time! I have another report due on Monday that I should be working on now but I have zero motivation to start.
Anyhow, this week is the long awaited recess week (although we all know recess week isn't quite all play and no work). I've really got to work on my french! We had midterms on thursday and there was this portion where we're required to create a dialogue between two people. My vocabulary was so pathetic I ended up writing "Visite mon maison s'il vous plait! Nous can regarder la télévision together (Please visit my house! We can watch tv together)" hahahaha omg prof is going to have a heart attack reading my paper. It actually is incredibly difficult learning a language from scratch.
I've been actively tweeting about this but I'd do it here again anyway. I've finally managed to ombré my hair! I saw it a really long time ago online and thought it was so pretty but only really wanted to do it on myself after I saw it on her.
Her blog is a gem, and she dresses very well. Most of her posts are OOTDs and I can spend hours on her blog. Damn, she even got the same river island clutch I was eyeing from asos. I like her ombre hair the most, amongst other bloggers like rumi neely or even alexa chung.
Of course I had my fair share of apprehension since bleaching was involved and I was afraid I'd fry my hair. Finding suitable products was another issue since most of the tutorials online were done in the US and they use blond highlighting kits which you can't find here.
I did it the first time using Palty but it didn't work out. Didn't work out as in I didn't get the ombre effect but it definitely fried my hair! My ends were drier than before but luckily for me I went to get a haircut to get some layers in my hair and so some of the ends were snipped off.
I let the hair rest for about a week before I tried a second time with another kit this time from Gatsby. I had to do it in two separate rounds - the first time putting the dye relatively high, washing it off and then drying it, and doing it a second time, this time focusing on only the part which I wanted it to be lightest.
Et voilà! It isn't as obvious as say, Rumi's (her lightest is blond) cause my lightest is only a light golden brown, but I think its the lightest my hair can go and it has a subtle ombré effect, which is great. The best part? Not a lot of people, especially in sg, have ombréd hair so its something different! It was difficult to capture the colors on camera but my friend wanted to see it so here goes -
Its actually a really fun and easy process cause all you need to do is bleach your ends! Beats dyeing the whole head, imo. My mum said it the light part is too light and she doesn't like it but heck, I've gotten more compliments from my friends who liked it. Side effects wise the drying wasn't actually that horrible, since I put effort into moisturizing products for dry hair (and my hair has this amazing ability to still look glossy when its actually really dry). Definitely wasn't as bad as what I feared, and I really like the gradation! Happy me : >

I look really tired and shitty. Obviously this photo is filtered and hence the colors aren't exactly right but its similar in real life.
I also went on a whim and pierced my tragus yesterday. I don't know what came over me! A long time ago I wanted to do it (sounds familiar to my ombré story no?) and even made plans to go with tiffny to a tattoo shop to get it done since it is a cartilage piercing, but I eventually chickened out after wt said her tragus "shattered" after a second piercing. You gotta admit "shattered" sounds fucking scary. But yesterday when I walked into Craft X and asked the lady there if it was dangerous and would hurt, she said its similar to a helix piercing which I also did before so I was like, heck, let's do it! (and it was only $5, why the hell not) And after it went in I wanted to slap myself for ever being scared. It's just like any other piercing! My pain tolerance is quite high so normal piercings are like meh. It only throbs occasionally but that has stopped already so I'd looking forward to changing the stud out soon!
Edit: Okay I did a bit of googling and found out that guns shouldn't be used on ALL cartilage piercings because it runs a higher risk of shattering it, but all's too late now! Just hope it recovers without any infections and hopefully it doesn't bleed a lot and get scabby.
This has actually been a decent, proper post hasn't it? Now aren't you proud of me.

On Jayma Mays. Watching her on Glee already has me swooning over her wardrobe which is insanely cute! She's the perfect kate spade girl. And I'm right, kate spade is the main sponsor of her wardrobe (together w J Crew, Anthropologie, and ModCloth), they go together too damn well.
I googled for photos of her off Glee and in real life, where her makeup's different. I have grown to love her more. She is so gorgeous :')
Love the red lips with white dress
Mad love for her outfit. And bangs! Keeping this picture so I can get it cut like hers after mine grows out.
More glamourous look.. She has such pretty hair color ♥
My absolute favorite! THE HAIR AND MAKEUP AND DRESS. Love how the blush's exact same color as the dress!
Love her earrings in this and her hair and her dress/top, I can't tell. She looks a little like blake lively with short hair, no? So damn gorgeous x

I don't think I know how to do it. Its just that try as I might, somehow you're still in my life. Connected with the thinnest of threads, but still connected. And all I want to do it cut us loose, snip snip snip. I need to stop feeling guilty.
I've also forgotten what it feels like. What heartache feels like. The dull pain filling my heart, crushing my chest, exchanging my breaths for gasps. It just hit me that for the last couple years, I haven't had anything close to an heartache. I haven't had any crying episodes where I fling myself onto the bed, shut off my phone and do nothing but cry. I really haven't. All I've had was good ordinary days, some better than the others.
But I miss heartaches. I realize we only live once, and I haven't really put myself out there. I miss making a fuss, crying, and then coming out feeling stronger. Sometimes I wonder if I've adopted some sort of defense mechanism. So that's it. Maybe I'm damaged.
Fix me?
