A little of summer '13, of whatever was captured on camera and worth mentioning
Meetup with c13
Turnout was exactly as I've expected.. I shall say, it was intimate hahaha. Is this honestly what will happen like when we're all 35 and I'm hoping for a class reunion?! That's gonna be so disappointing! I hope by then we'd have little kids present at the reunion too gosh that's so sweet and I so look forward to that!
Night Out
Didn't manage to snap any good photos lol, I was very gone and discovered some weird photos in my phone, taken without flash, how smart. The other photos wendy too, I cannot put up. Hahaha oh but it was a happy night out... I think?
Brunch
Revisited Prive again finally, always look forward to brunches there! Extremely busy there on a sat afternoon, and I got to down my eggs benny this time with some muscato. I love it!
This was at night at one of the restaurants in Central.. surprisingly good and I rly enjoyed their kimchi soup!
Movie, Delicious
Watched despicable me on hari raya thinking the run's near its end, so we didn't book but omg the all the families were out with their kids and we ended up with first row seats! Lady at the gv counter laughed at me for accepting first row tickets after she warned me its "just three metres away from the screen" What is that!! We were the only young adults in the cinema hahaha and this cute little caucasian girl sitting beside me kept kicking me during the fight scenes with the purple minions.
And we finally tried Delicious after talking about it for so long.. Ordered steak medium well but it turned out more like well done and it was still bloody! Very unsatisfied, and their lemongrass tasted weird. Delicious, you are not delicious!!
Loved my purse that day, except it kept getting caught on my knit sweater. I also got dissed for buying expensive makeup. Do not buy makeup with boys. #theyjustdontgetit
The steak.. The only part I liked was the garlic mash.
The lights above us! I think the only thing I liked about the restaurant was its decor. And the ambiance scent of Scotts Square haha I love it so much I'm a weirdo
Five and Dime, Wine Company
Catching up with an old friend over dinner. One of those rare occasions where I'm waiting for my date.. hence a photo worth capturing haha. I strongly recommend Five & Dime! Great ambiance, food to match and psst... free parking ;)
Adjourned to Wine Company for drinks.. the restaurant's decor looked so enticing and luxe but pity we already had dinner. Will try next time!
The amusing picture in the washroom. The crudeness of it just clashes so violently with the traditional techniques, such a quirky piece.
Jean contacted me directly to plan the surprise (Joel and I turning up) but in the end it failed cause Yuhong accidentally saw out conversation wth. I have no affinity with surprises! Finally got to meet Jean too (I'm a busybody like that) and we had dinner at genki sushi cause Yuhong was sposed to wolf down 22 plates of his favourite salmon sushi or something haha. I was amused by the train thing that delivers the food there but overall was so ordinary (I pledge loyalty to Itacho) and service was dismal.
Joel, who at first was whining about going - "har so weird"... I told him never mind, just share your doctor stories. In the end that's exactly what we ended up doing hahaha
Jamie's Italian
We had a horrifying 2 hour wait till we got seats, waited for an extremely late Jerome and by then a lot of items were wiped from the menu due to the huge crowd.
Love the ambiance! The seating space was immense. Most of the photos turned out bad cause there was mostly only candlelight.
Lemon meringue for dessert.. I've recently taken to zesty desserts and this was quite light and fabulous to share due to its huge portion.
Haha okay so I know this doesn't look like much but its super delicious! I can't remember what pasta it was, I think it was penne or rotini, but the ragu deserves an honorable mention!! Super delish. Prices for food there are really reasonable too. Just really annoyed they set up shop in vivo of all places, its so out of the way!!
Skypark Pool
So its ridiculous how I've worked there for so long and been up to the skypark hundreds of times (literally) but never got down into the pool itself for a swim. It was just too troublesome!! Pity we didn't want to stay long enough to catch the fireworks, we went there on national day and could have enjoyed the fireworks right in front of us. I was actually hoping to tan a little but none of that happened (what in the world), super disappointing.
Dolce Vita
Can I just say - i absolutely loved this place and will be back to eat more! Eugene and I droved over here for a short lunch on my second last day of work. When we stepped in for our reservation at 12 it was empty and Eugene, being all dubious, asked me if I would rather switch to dine in Melt instead. In the end we stayed and I didn't regret it at all!
The view was of Mandarin Oriental's pool just outside and it was such a gorgeous view to dine over, and also a pleasing respite from the office's lack of colour.
The second thing I love there after food - the decor!! I felt like I was in europe. There was something very nautical and laidback about the striped seats/tiled floor, yet I could see the place transforming beautifully into the night.
Their bread came with a selection of five different dips, the usual olive and vinegar but they also created three stunning tomato based dips. I couldn't stop eating the bread lol. I also love the bread at Sky on 57 yummzz
We had the lunch degustation, first up was crab tartare. I just melted. I love crab and this was executed perfectly. The little wallop of salad on the side was refreshing and whetted my appetite considerably. I didn't take a picture of the amuse bouche but I remembered it delighting me as well
My main, veal wrapped with prosciutto. Another hit, the meat was done just the way I wanted and I neatly finished everything on the plate (with the exception of the greens), it was wayyyy too yummy to leave anything behind. The serving portion was also a winner.
The dessert, which was also delicious but in comparison to the awesomeness of the first two, paled considerably. Eugene had their famous tiramisu, which was perhaps one of the most fluffy and light tiramisus I've had.
I highly recommend this place if you're looking for someplace with exquiste food and for a special meal!
Ambush x Surrender
Knowing how I have a little crush on GD, Sebas invited me to the opening of the store at MBS. It was closed door but still crazy crowded! When I arrived I saw that a lot of the invitees couldn't even get into the store and had to hover outside. Super ridiculous.
It felt surreal being so near him though! There were quite a lot of other celebs at the event, most of which I had no idea who they were, all the attention was on GD and I was just standing behind him at the sofa, fangirling with Sam and Nana (before I discovered she's actually a famous Msian blogger lol) and repeatedly getting stopped by the security's half hearted efforts to prevent photo-taking.
To immortalize this moment I am putting up a video a fangirl took when GD was leaving the store where I appeared for the slightest fraction of a second behind Sebas (dude in grey and white suit). Hahahahaha omg this is so lame
After that I met up with Fandi for a long night of Kudeta and catching up, I love you!!
One of a Kind Tour
Comp tickets!! Yay I love it when celebs stay at mbs teehee.
Museum BBQ
On that fateful night, I found out Twinkle passed away... :( Its the little hammie we got Tiana for her birthday, so wasted!!
The love story between Kopi (the retriever) and Truffle (the dachshund). One night, Kopi fell in love with Truffle. Truffle left with Anabelle (mummy) for a short while and left Kopi pining for Truffle. When T returned, she kept ignoring K and K went into silent depression. However T would occassionally flirt with K, misleading him awfully much. Eg. Playing kissy kissy with him
Eg of when a very enigmatic T plays it cool and ignores a very hopeful K.
Hahaha #truestory. Kopi is huge!! I tried holding on to his leash for a while (we took turns, since he's a little crazy over T, kept dashing off to pounce on him and could crush Truffle in seconds) but I kept imaging the scene where Kopi'd suddenly dash off and I'd be dragged along with him hahaha and Kelvin kept trying to scare Kopi/tell him to chase after Truffle cause he wanted to see me losing control of Kopi -_-
Tiana, missed my desk partner so much!
I've actually got some other stuff I want to put up but this post has dragged on long enough and I need sleep so bonsoir, xx!!
