I just realized I haven't touched this space in 2 weeks. It feels only like a few days has passed! Time flies by so frightfully fast. While at first my work was all roses and perks, now its slowly becoming very stressful. I mean, we constantly get reminded that we are just interns. Like an extra hand to help people do things. Most times, there's also zero recognition. Its quite depressing. And then other times you really just get mysteriously fucked for no reason. It makes it difficult to know what is the right thing to do. Take initiative sometimes just means you're acting smart. And you thought that was handling your own problems. Or sometimes I don't bother to explain things because it just makes me sound like I'm trying to find excuses. And I really don't understand why they can't print namecards for us. Yes, we are not having permanent positions but its really SO awkward when I get namecards from all the media people I meet on my tours and I have no namecard in return to give. I just feel like I'm damn rude. I know it's rather silly trying to fight for the fact that interns should have namecards because its practiced across all departments but really, I don't get the rationale? Its okay not to have one if what I'm doing the entire day is photocopying and sitting around in the office. But I'm not. We're meeting the media almost every other day. Its just quite senseless because we are expected to give tours and do things that the officers do, but don't even have something as basic as a namecard. Maybe I will raise this with my superiors soon. I've never felt the boundaries between senior and junior so clearly drawn out in all my other jobs before. I don't know. I guess I expected something a little more homely.. But then got shot in the head instead.
Run with me.

Looking forward to the end of the week. Today was a teeny weeny bad day for me, because I saw some things I shouldn't have. I don't know, but now it seems as if they are certain boundaries I never knew existed. You know how it is when people judge based on what they think they know? I feel wronged, but it doesn't seem to matter. I must tread carefully :(

Mannn its been so long since I last posted! Been SO busy with work, and I'm literally tired out everyday. But I'm happy! Given so many opportunities I won't be given elsewhere. There's a few magazine shoots next week with models and I'd also be going to metta school to photograph the kids! : > Yesterday was so crazy, I had three tours with different groups of media and walked to and fro the museum and hotel at least 10 times. Poor sore aching feet!

I met the guys from discovery channel at 6.30pm (yes, way past my working hour and I'm not given OT pay fml) but in the end I was glad they were my last tour of the day cause they were so entertaining! I brought them to see the wonder full (lights and laser) show and erik just kept laughing and saying "it's the most hilarious thing I've ever seen" while snapping away with his blackberry.

Was also doing a feature for a story to pitch for 8 days, so I had to meet, interview and photograph some good-looking sommeliers, chefs and bartenders from the celeb chef restaurants. I had their contacts but no idea what they looked like because the shortlisting was done by venetia so I was so excited to meet them! I had two appointments yesterday, first to meet a bartender from CUT and after that a sommelier from Santi. So I was all happy heading towards CUT armed with a dslr in hand and a recorder, but eh the bartender was quite disappointing la. HAHA. Finished the interview and shooting anyway, and was all ready to meet the sommelier cause he's italian and his texts are SO cute and warm, BUT the discovery people called and told me they're at the valet already :( MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT! So gia covered for me and went herself to interview Paco instead. When she called me to let me know she's done I asked "so how, is he cute" and she said he's cute AND charismatic. FMLFMLFML. The worst part is when I went back to office after touring with the discovery people and looked at the pics she took of him, I died right there and then. HE SO CUTE. (but I texted him to say I was sorry for not being able to meet him in person, and he asked me to drop by for champagne sometime HEHEHE)

Okay I shall stop with my blow my blow account of my working life, must be boring you guys. Pictures over the week soon!

Tomorrow is a huge day for me, my first time co-leading a tour! Very nervous and excited, all at the same time. I really hope I remember all the statistics, bloody challenging. Anyway we will be have lunch with the media at rise, yay! That day we went to sky on 57 and the manager treated us to foie gras xiao long bao and the nicest laksa in the world. I've never been a laksa fan but omg theirs is so awesome its impossible not to love. Even their taupok has perfect springyness and prawns are all nicely shelled (they are also damn fat and juicy). We were very very lucky to have been so nicely treated! :D

Anyway today/night was really fab as well, had squad outing. I miss them so much! Pictures soon alright hee.
i will go read my intern bible now

The past week has been a little crazy. I've gone property touring so much now I'm getting tired of the skypark and $16000 suites HAHA. My new heels are so worn out it looks like I've worn them for months. Still, the property is so ridiculously big I hope I won't get lost when I start leading tours. Anyhow, if I was hoping to be slacking on this internship I'm very wrong. Guess I was a little silly to assume all I'd be doing is photocopying and binding?? Next monday Erica and I will be hosting the crew from one of their tv channels for a shoot first thing in the morning! So. Bloody. Exciting. And surprisingly most of the other team members (their term for staff), even those we don't know, are so friendly. Guess its what happens when you go into hospitality! When joseph told me he got to eat at guy savoy with the media people on one of the tours, I think that was my happiest moment. Guy savoy!!! BEST PERK.

Sides, I'm quite ashamed of myself. Went to get buttered last night and while I arrived to work on time, the remnant alcohol in my body was throwing a bad hissy fit. I kept wanting to throw up! I think since JB my body has learnt that when it gets alcohol in its system, there's only one thing to do: purge. Very disgusting, so I won't be drinking anytime soon anymore. Sides, the linen room beside my whole dept has this very clinical smell that only makes me want to throw up more. So I have to hold my breath while walking past. I only felt better after lunch, by which I do have to mention - the dining room is awesome!! I thought it would be some dingy sad little place, but piang its like carpeted floor, well cushion chairs, tv all over - just very very good. The food also!! Totally spoils you for choice. I took two soups cause I couldn't decide between the two - and besides its all free so why not hahaha. The cream of mushroom was not so good but the bak kut teh soup was heavenlyyyy and there were around 7 different types of salads to choose from? And that's just salads. You get the idea.

Okay its 12 and I've got a strict self imposed sleep curfew now so toodles!
