We found love in a hopeless place

4 days off work this weekend! Feeling good. I love it when days merge into nights and night into days - it feels as if I have this stretch of eternity ahead of me. Work is same old same old, good days peppered with office jokes and frequent trips to get bubble tea. I now hate the mention of school - I refuse to return to books and lecture halls. I think I will miss my colleagues so, so much, they are really a big bunch of sweet and wonderful dear people. If I had my way, I would kill books and advocate work, because you can only learn so much from books. The people skills, amongst other things, is not something gleaned from books but experience. Also, I've met and talked to so many people from such diverse backgrounds and different countries, it makes me want to travel so bad. Forgive me if I am just that bit incoherent, because lately I'm just.. troubled. I don't like grey areas, and I don't like blurry lines. I like comfort, and I want it to stay that way.

So I've decided to dedicate a bit of time blogging since I haven't done so properly in a while.. Anyway, work has been so mad we haven't got time to rest last week. We had the regional fam trip (familiarization) over the weekend starting Friday. Basically what a fam trip is.. we bring media from other countries to come to MBS and show them around the property for 2-3 days, and plan all their itineraries. This September, we hosted the media from korea, japan, malaysia, thailand, indonesia, australia and india. Its a total of about 70 media, so all of us are assigned to a country (mine's Japan) and stick w them throughout the weekend.

I'm very thankful my group is rather small (group of six), and japs being japs are always very punctual, polite, and fun to be around, so all is good. They're also very dedicated and hardworking! When food is served in all the restaurants they're always the ones snapping away and running around to get the best shots. And they're wonderful to talk to!

The stuff we planned for the media was really tight, so most times we're just hurrying from place to place the whole day. To do that in heels was just.. very challenging. HAHA. But its given me good training! And in the end we always have fabulous meals at celeb chefs restaurants so its all worth it!

Lion King was really good too. Its just really sad that they're ending their run @ the theatres (last show Oct 30th), so thats a lot of people out of jobs. I love papa simba. His voice is MAN so good! And I finally understood all that stuff alicia was telling me "you must sit beside the aisle cause the elephants will walk past you!! *gushes*"

On Saturday night, we ended the tour with a trip to Pangaea and Avalon. Pangaea was actually just a lounge (but they had free flow housepours yay!) so I quickly had some whiskey and tequila hahaha because avalon had no free drinks (bad, bad decision) and actually after the whiskey I became slightlyyy tipsy but let me tell you Avalon was so bad it killed all the alcohol I had.

I think its because we attended the VIP party and they wanted to create some sort of sophisticated atmosphere, so they got a live band to play on stage. The singer was good, she sounded like duffy and belted out good songs but its just not the type people dance to! It made the whole place like a mini concert, and people were grooving all facing the stage, which I just found really weird when it's supposed to be a club. Just drop all the high class acts and spin some music!! We really wanted to wait it out and see how's the music after the band leaves, but went home in the end because the band refused to stop playing haha.

That's about it. I brought another jap media today and they told me they drank till 3am @ avalon last night and apparently there was no live band playing, so maybe I'd go back soon just to see what it'd be like without all that pretense.

Pictures from the night up soonish!

A little something something derek showed me. Very interesting! Got me thinking, if we were to drown and our bodies sink, how deep can we go? Literally Davy Jone's locker? (ahh, POTC reference too hahaha) Man, why do I think about dying all the time? And titanic is coming to our artscience museum soon I can't wait!!

Anyway, just found out today that gia and I also have to be there when the regional media comes mid september :( which means working on fris, sats, and suns fml, cancelling tuition (hence less $). Just hope to be able to get inside Avalon/Pangaea when it opens! (hopefully everyone forgets I'm not yet 21) I saw them trying the club lights one of the nights and it was so pretty : >

Some things are hard to write about. After something happens to you, you go to write it down, and either you over dramatize it, or underplay it, exaggerate the wrong parts or ignore the important ones. At any rate, you never write it quite the way you want to.

I'd always remember studying her spooky poem "daddy" during lit lessons and listening to her recite it. Man i miss lit lessons. She's amazing though.
