How was your chinese new year? After not going back to celebrate the new year for several damn years we finally headed back this year for a short.. 4 days. Its quite insane actually because we spend so much time travelling and once we get there we visit and eat non-stop. The good thing though? We eat all our meals outside because everything is so cheap (even though they jacked up prices for new year). The only regret was the fact that my silly daddy forgot to bring his driver's license back so we had to be chauffeured everywhere AND AS A RESULT I CLDN'T HAVE MY DIMSUM BREAKFAST. Seriously?! Have been looking forward to that for centuries :'(

Anyway chinese new year there is super different from Singapore's, in many ways. There's absolutely no chance of sleeping or sleeping in because 1. there's always someone putting on fireworks display or 2. lighting firecrackers. Happens all the way into the night and as early as what, 7am! But fireworks are SO pretty. We also lighted up several kong ming lanterns and watched it set off into the night sky.

I'm in the midst of uploading several videos that I took but they're taking really long so I'd update them again in another post. Till then, pictures!

I forgot to bring my camera back cause I only had one hour to pack and have dinner so I completely forgot. Hence all my pictures taken there was Instagrammed.

My cutie pie nephew Joshua

My uncle was very eager to take pictures hahaha

Lou hei on reunion dinner night! The restaurant was so booked they only gave us two hours to finish eating.

Kong Ming lanterns that people can buy and light up!

Little Joshua enjoying his lolly immensely

My cousins

The boys

Photo with yh after I mistakenly took a video of us posing HAHA omg I need to stop doing things like that

With my brother who is giving that expression cause he says I can never take a photo properly. Obviously he is in delusion. And I like the plush red curtain in the background.

With my cousin Fiona. I'm missing our slight shopping escapade already!

With gia on our way to irene's house for reunion dinner w the comms peeps

Tiny glimpse of the spread Irene prepared for us. Mad love. There were two broths, chicken and tom yum. I was actually quite apprehensive about the tom yum but O M G hers was GASTRONOMIC.

The tomyum broth! It was the most delicious tom yum soup I've ever tasted. And its tom yum paste out of a can!! How awesome. The brand is hollyfarm, folks. If you ever need tom yum soup buy that, you will never regret it. The tom yum soup disappeared super quickly cause everyone was drinking that only hahaha

Her son Issac. I WANT TO KIDNAP HIM. He's duper smiley! Especially for the camera. Sigh my baby must be so adorable in the future also. And he's very good with people and lets everyone carry him!

WILL YOU JUST LOOK AT HIM!! So bloody cute trying to hold the camera when I was taking a picture.

Yes then he decides to give us this megawatt (without teeth, though haha) smile so we can all die in peace.

The girls with Irene's daughter, Shyanne. When I took this photo I asked "Shyanne are you the prettiest?" she unabashedly declared "YES"

Tim came with this super pretty wife and daughter, Cadence who inherited her mom's good looks. And she speaks with a slight american accent which is puzzling, but so cute! She's holding a bettle fridge magnet and going around trying to scare us hahaha

Smiley smiley cutie pie!

Shyann decided to style my hair for me as she got this box full of ribbons and hairties and clips and godknowswhat. I took a video and will be posting that up soon!

All of us prepping for louhei. Cute Cadence again because my camera automatically finds itself taking pictures of cute subjects.

I'm holding a barbie whom I dressed (and I never did play with dolls in my childhood, instead I played lego w my bro hahaha) and gia's holding the kuku beetle fridge magnet.

BBQ with the Squad!

That's all for now. What an exhausting post!
Hello
Tuesday, January 24, 2012

Spent a short four days in Malaysia and I'm finally heading home tomorrow! It's been quite a madhouse and I'd blog more about it when I'm back home snuggled in my comfy bed. As much as I've enjoyed myself  here I really want to be in sg now! x

There's actually no need for me to feel slightly embarrassed to want more. Nobody set the rules in black and white and I'm sure as hell not gonna do so.
Glitter frenzy

Tuesday, January 17, 12.30am

I've been thinking for a while how I should do my nails since I'm finally going back for cny this year and that would mean visiting tons of people. As usual I couldn't really come up with anything good so I called my nail parlor and asked how much they charged for a classic manicure this week. The answer at the other end of the line obviously did not please me (I should have known better) and so when I was out shopping today I happened to see OPI's Rainbow Connection sitting innocently on a shelf.. And against the woeful cries of my wallet I bought it at $20. On hindsight I do truly think it is an investment cause it goes with almost everything and I adore the color anyway.

Still unsatisfied, I went around in an half hearted attempted to look for some nice dresses but none caught my eye. And then I found this store selling deborah lippmann-ish glitter polishes which I have been lemming after!! At that moment I asked myself what would jesus do, so I bought it w/o hesitation. Bought only pink but its really good so I'd be going back on wednesday to swipe all the damn colors.

I also got two other nude shades for my fingers and a top coat that I desperately needed. Once home I happily whipped out all the polishes and started working on a pedi and mani. On my toes I had a dark purple base with rainbow connection washed over it, while on my fingers it was a nude beige with the pink glitter layered lightly on top. The thing I love about the glitter is that it's huge, hexagonal bits of shimmery beauty (as opposed to the usual tiny glitter bits). Yes I'm mad over glitter.. Just so pretty and instantly jazzes up any manicure!

The quality is asswipe but my camera ran out of battery so I made do with my itouch.

I'm all set for cny and looking forward to the end of the week to get shipped off to another country!

Ah! My blog looks awesome now. Many posts ago I've mentioned that I want to get rid of the default blogskin I was using cause it was way too cluttered and had way too many widgets.. And now I've finally  edited it to something I like! I've been wanting to find a layout code similar to my tumblr (staygolddontgo) which I loved due to its simplicity. I found a similar one on blogskins and loved it but it was still too cluttered and the datestamp was irritating me so viola! Made some changes to the html code and have finally something I adore. x
