Crossing boundaries

Don’t be afraid to put too much of yourself into something and get hurt. Don’t be afraid to be the one who cares more. Don’t be afraid to be your loving, thin-skinned self. I recently heard an adage that advised people always to be the “crazy” one in a relationship, which I disagreed with because it’s weird and able-ist. Instead, I think if we want to find love, fulfillment and happiness, we need to stop caring what people think and care about being true to ourselves and validating our real emotions. Because if someone doesn’t like you for that, what’s the point?

I loved reading this rather lengthy article on thought catalog, it was one of those good ones that made me read and nod in agreement, a silent hell yeah.  I don't knw why society is so messed up. All these unspoken rules guard and shape our actions so much, often times we aren't really doing the things we really want to do. Why are we all so afraid of judgement, even when you know full well that its something you won't regret doing?

The irony of it is that even when we know all these, nothing is changed. No one really wants to step out of this little bubble of conformity. Many a time I stand on the brink, my feet a few inches from the line, but never having the courage to just fucking cross it.
Saveur

I love sussing out new places to eat at and for the longest time (since janson told me about it I think) I've been wanting to try out Saveur, so when we finally decided to go I was really excited cause all the reviews about that places are just glowing reviews?! Awesome.

I was quite afraid there would be a snaking queue but surprising the place was decently filled and not too crowded.

The tables were really close to each other though, not something I like but since there was nobody beside us it wasn't a huge problem.

We ordered their signature lumpfish caviar and shrimp angelhair pasta for starters and I love the plating!! Although it was a really small serving it did pack a punch and it tasted really really good, I enjoyed this the most out of all the dishes actually. Next time I return I'd just have this as my main.

My main, beef bourguignon. A mouthful of french haha but it's basically burgundy beef, infused w red wine. The meat was delish and tender but some parts it got dry cause there wasn't enough sauce. And I was very disappointed the potatoes didn't come mashed, and as a result was so much more difficult to eat! I left the rocket salad untouched cause I hate the bitter taste. Dressing was good though.

Thaddeus' barramundi, which was like this small weakling fish compared to my oversized meat hahaha. I tried a little and it wasn't anything fantastic, but they had this little bits of crabmeat underneath the fish nestled in between potato cubes. Those were really good. I mean c'mon crab tastes good anyhow.

And finally for desserts we got their chocolate and hazelnut. The presentation was really weird but it tasted good.

All in all I kinda enjoyed the food. It wasn't as fantastic as I hoped it would be; there were some hits and misses but for the price I really think its pretty justified. It was also distracting to sit in front of the kitchen bar so I had to see the looks the waiters and chefs gave. Would have preferred to sit elsewhere, but otherwise service was pretty efficient and quick.

I was telling Thad about the fantastic lobster bisque I had at White Rabbit and I really have a mad craving for it now!! Ugh :'(
To show you you missed out

It's surprising what determination pushes us to achieve.

I've no time! I've no time! School is killing me, my bioclock is in a mess, and so is my room and study table. I've absolutely no order whatsoever!! Sweet lord, 5 day weeks are FUCKED UP. What happened to the promises of three day week for biz students?!

On top of studies I've also got to handle insanity and tuition and attempt to have a social life. Impossible I tell you. When I sit down and attempt to do some accounting yknw what happens? I find myself thinking about how I would be willing to eat the textbook if it means being able to absorb the information. I know right, I've regressed as a human being to become so base and barbaric..

I need therapyyyy - shop, eat or just sleep my worth, and I need it quick! Recess week won't you just come sooner :'(
